othonas charalambous is a Cypriot visual artist exploring nuanced relationships between humanity and the natural world through a range of mediums including video, sound, installation and sculpture, among others. his practise unfolds through synergetic gestures encompassing civil disobedience, environmental activism and interdisciplinary research that often depart from local biopolitics to inform universal urgencies. 

his work is exhibited worldwide including at the State Gallery of Contemporary Art (Nicosia, CY, 2023), CEAC (Xiamen, CH, 2022), Het Nieuwe instituut (Rotterdam, NL, 2021), Salone Degli Incanti (Trieste, IT, 2019), Elika Gallery (Athens, GR, 2018), among others. recent residencies include a cote de / besides, curated by Sean Elder (Korai project space, Nicosia, CY) and journeying towards that which is missed, curated by Ioanna Gerakidi (snehta residence, Athens, GR).  

charalambous is also the co-founder and co-director of platform: climate challenge (Visual Artists & Art Theorists Association, 2018-2020), and has co-organised and co-curated several exhibitions including perceiving landscape(s) (International Association of Photography & Theory, 2020-2021), and etchings (Glavkos Koumides, 2023).
