whisper orbits: imperceptibilities act I explores underwater noise pollution as a result of human activity. A series of video and sound fragments emerge to voice concerns on behalf of marine life towards anthropocentric activity disrupting the sea commons. Investigating sites that serve as indicative of the highest degree of damage, the work approaches geographical locations of underwater drilling and transportation at oil and gas wells. Developed during a 3-month residency in Athens, the work attempts to access Greek oil and gas refineries through forbidding conditions registering watchful encounters behind locked metal fences and armed security guards.
